Join us on Saturday, April 21st (Earth Day weekend!) for the annual celebration of the oldest longleaf pine! The Old Tree can be found in the heart of Moore County, NC at Weymouth Woods- Sandhills Nature Preserve.

Last year's event attracted 1,300 people and this year will be even bigger and better! We will again be featuring a live controlled burn on State Park land (weather permitting). Come learn more about the role that fire plays in a healthy longleaf ecosystem.

Other Party for the Pine features include:

  • Birthday celebration for the Old Tree, including cake!
  • Hikes to the Old Tree
  • Live animals
  • Chat with local wildlife educators
  • Bluebird house building
  • Play Mobile
  • Face painting
  • Games for children of all ages
  • Arts and crafts vendors
